The Boys’ Choir Pueri Cantores Sancti Nicolai is a group of amateur singers. It was founded in 1987 by Father Stanisław Adamczyk, who is still its conductor.
The ensemble gives concerts to a wide audience. It is respected both in Poland and abroad. The choir’s extensive repertoire includes sacred and contemporary light music. Its artistic achievements are manifested in numerous prizes which the choir has received during international and Polish competitions and festivals.
The choir’s reputation has also led to numerous invitations to take part in the most important music events in Poland. It is worth mentioning a few events that took place in 2015, including the concert that the choir gave to inaugurate the 40th festival Music in Old Kraków in the Wawel Royal Cathedral where it was conducted by Stanisław Gałoński, the performance of two great compositions by Krzysztof Penderecki (the St Luke Passion and Credo), and the recording of Joseph Haydn’s mass Missa in temper belli (Paukenmesse).
The choir has released 13 CDs so far and participated in making recordings for the Polish Radio and Television on a number of occasions.
